Why Resilience Came First
Before chasing targets, I chose resilience—the ability to reset, steady the team, and keep our standards. It took courage to slow down, look clearly, and act simply. As the SAS motto say, “Who Dares Wins.”
Phase 1 in Three Simple Moves
1) Observe
I listened and watched: where work got stuck, where energy dropped, where people quietly made things better.
2) Act
Small, visible moves only: short daily check-ins, one place for updates, simple checklists, clear owners.
3) Build Consistency
A basic rhythm everyone could trust: open well, reset mid-shift, close cleanly—same times, same cues.
Outcome: calmer days, clearer handovers, less noise. Not perfect—just steady enough to build on.
Phase 2: Future → Engage → Deliver
I’m using Steve Radcliffe’s model from the book Leadership Plain and Simple:
Future — A one-page direction we all believe in.
Engage — Involve people early; practice together; make roles and standards obvious.
Deliver — Turn best work into simple processes and review weekly so they stick.
